Mabelin Castellanos
Artist Bio
Mabelin Castellanos (Mabela) is a self-taught artist living and working in Miami Beach, Florida.
She was a Scientist for more than thirty years and she loved every minute of it. In 2015 her career ended due to neurological issues. It was a long recovery and creating Art played an enormous part in her healing process.
She stitches snapshots of everyday scenes. The colors and patterns of the fabric pieces often give inspiration for what she draws on top of them.
Her work has had an excellent reception, which has made her known to the Art Community and has made possible the exhibit of her quilts in Art Galleries across the country.
